29 Dec Eater LA: A Casual Indonesian Newcomer Makes Room Along Glendale’s Busiest Stretch
Rinjani lands just off Brand Boulevard today

Indonesian cuisine may just be having a mini-moment around greater Los Angeles, as evidenced by the introduction of the new Rinjani in Glendale. Dubbing itself as “Authentic Indonesian Cuisine,” the casual Brand Boulevard shop opens for business officially on January 2, but will likely be serving up for locals this weekend.
Rinjani is the work of Indonesian native Mira Setiabudhi and partner Rebecca Setiabudhi. The pair have combined to bring a menu of classic Indonesian dishes to the forefront, offered in a laid-back environment across both lunch and dinner. That means everything from satay to nasi goreng to rendang, with a variety of specialities thrown in as well. The opening menu is below.
The restaurant is in good company these days, as a slew of Indonesian-influenced places have opened up across Los Angeles. There’s skewer-heavy Mr. Sate in Palms (plus Mee & Greet nearby doing rarely-seen Peranakan cuisine) for one, as well as the popular Pasadena spot Bone Kettle. Rinjani soft opens today, and will keep regular hours starting January 2 from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. or later daily.
