DESCRIPTION:SHINING NIGHT is a tribute to a living legend\, celebrating the life and music of the artist whom musicologist Nick Strimple has called ‘the only American composer in history who can be called a mystic.’ Morten Lauridsen\, a National Medal of Arts recipient and perhaps the most frequently performed American choral composer\, rocketed to international stardom during his tenure as the L.A. Master Chorale’s Composer in Residence. Join us for a screening of this 2012 documentary\, including a post-show conversation with the film director\, Paul Salamunovich\, Grant Gershon\, and the composer himself. \nGeneral Admission Seating (for ADA Accessible seating\, see the ADA information section below). \nRunning time is approximately 2 hours with no intermission\, and the event is suitable for all ages.
