DESCRIPTION:Think of a teacher that inspired you to greatness. Or a student you mentored to success. Do you wonder what happened to them? For violinists Jaime Laredo and Jennifer Koh the answer is clear. Teacher and revered soloist Laredo joins Koh\, his student-turned-star\, to perform Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor under the direction of dynamic young guest conductor James Feddeck in his Los Angeles debut. The teacher and former student also share the spotlight for the West Coast premiere of Anna Clyne’s Prince of Clouds\, a Baroque-style concerto inspired by Laredo and Koh’s artistic family tree. The evening’s program includes: \nJames Feddeck\, conductor Jaime Laredo\, violin Jennifer Koh\, violin \nMENDELSSOHN – ‘The Fair Melusina’ Overture ANNA CLYNE – Prince of Clouds (West Coast premiere of LACO co-commission) BACH – Concerto in D minor for Two Violins SCHUBERT – Symphony No. 3 in D major \nPrograms and artists subject to change. \n7:00 PM – Pre-Concert Preludes – Your ticket includes admission to this pre-concert extra. Some Preludes will feature LIVE performances of short chamber works. All will provide interesting insights into the music and the artists. \nRunning time is approximately 2 hours with one intermission and the performance is suitable for ages 6 and older.
