DESCRIPTION:Commemorating a 50 year career in dance\, Roberto Amaral will present his most versatile dance production to date. His inspiration for creating and performing first began with traditional Flamenco and classical Spanish music; for this show Maestro Amaral draws upon many styles and forms\, fusing the movement of Flamenco\, Classical Spanish\, Modern\, Jazz\, Latin and Middle Eastern. \n¡ESPAÑA! DANZAS ECLÉCTICAS is a personal reflection of a colorful and exciting life led by California’s leading innovator of Spanish influenced dance. After 50 years of critically acclaimed artistic accomplishments and landmark productions\, he continues to do what he does best…push the boundaries of Spanish dance. \nThis production marks the debut of Maestro Amaral’s newest 25-member dance company\, The Amaral Repertory Dance Ensemble and also features the brilliant talents of 5 guest artists\, all of whom are among California’s short list of highly versatile dancers equally accomplished in both Flamenco and Classical Spanish dance: Valeria Pico\, Alfredo Aja\, Misuda Cohen\, Irene Heredia and Pamela Lourant. And in a rare concert appearance\, Roberto Amaral himself will also perform! \nThis production features an exciting repertoire of dances\, several of them world premieres\, set to music by celebrated classical composers such as De Falla\, Granados\, Albéniz and Ravel\, as well as contemporary Flamenco and fusion composers. \nDon’t miss this landmark special event which is all about vibrant\, earthy\, dynamic\, passionate and sensuous dance set against a backdrop of spellbinding eclectic music.
