The GYO has played twice in recent years at the Walt Disney Concert Hall to great ovation. In 2011\, the GYO auditioned and was selected as a PREMIER LA Phil Youth Orchestra. Our mission is based on the belief that our young people have a better chance of succeeding in their world if they appreciate and participate in its rich artistic and cultural traditions. GYO provides young musicians in grades 6-12 from all over L.A. County a unique opportunity to play classical music. The GYO has been a Resident Company of the Alex Theatre since 1995.
