The Glendale Youth Orchestra (GYO) is excited to kick off our 31st season as one of Los Angeles Counties leading youth orchestra. The GYO is happy to introduce our new Music Director and Conductor, Henry Shin. The GYO has played twice in recent years at the Walt Disney Concert Hall to great ovation. In 2011, the GYO auditioned and was selected as a PREMIER LA Phil Youth Orchestra. You will be captivated as Clara and her beloved Nutcracker battle a most memorable Mouse King, encounter dancing Snowflakes, and travel to the Palace of the Dolls. Maggie K Music presents Maggie Khlghatyan live in concert and accompanied by a live band. Also on the program will be performances by artists well-known in Los Angeles’ Armenian community, as well as artists from Armenia. All proceeds from this benefit concert will go towards public-benefit projects in Gyumri, Armenia, the home of artist Maggie Khlghatyan. The concert commemorates the anniversary of the earthquake in Gyumri, which took the lives of almost 20,000 people, including Maggie’s parents, niece, and cousin.
