Anahit Nersisyan, renowned High Soprano, performs live in concert at the Alex Theatre. Anahit Nersisyan is of Armenian origin and is a well-known singer in the Armenian community in Los Angeles. She has participated in several international competitions and festivals, including: VI International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition (1980, First Prize and Golden Medal, Germany), Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition (2009, First Prize), and Vocal Competition After Glinka (1984, First Prize). In 2010, Ananhit Nersisyan performed in Carnegie Hall. Over the course of her career she has performed with 40 orchestras and sung 500 concerts.
The Glendale Youth Orchestra (GYO) is celebrating 30 seasons as one of Los Angeles County’s leading youth orchestras. The GYO has played twice in recent years at the Walt Disney Concert Hall to great ovation. The 2011, the GYO auditioned and was selected as a PREMIER LA Phil Youth Orchestra. Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra presents celebrated soprano Lydia Teuscher in a classic program led by guest conductor Bernard Labadie, one of the world’s leading conductors of baroque and classical repertoire. Teuscher performs arias by Mozart and Handel, including Mio Caro Bene, Rodelinda’s final aria from Handel’s Rodelinda. The concert also features Haydn’s ‘Surprise’ Symphony and Bach’sOrchestral Suite No. 3. LACO’s vibrant and engaging Orchestral Series showcases the ensemble’s remarkable artistry and trademark mix of regal classics and music from today’s leading composers.
