DESCRIPTION:  \nChelsea Handler – superstar comedian\, bestselling author and host of E!’s late night talk show\, “Chelsea Lately” — joins us at the Alex Theatre for a conversation on the occasion of the release of her upcoming book\, Uganda Be Kidding Me. \nUganda Be Kidding Me to be released on March 4 is a hilarious and absurd collection of travel essays. Chelsea delivers some of her favorite stories while also giving travelers her (not to be believed) guide to etiquette\, hot spots\, and answers to some of the most asked travel questions. Wherever Chelsea Handler travels\, one thing is certain: she always ends up in the land of the ridiculous. She sneaks her sharp wit through airport security and delivers her most absurd and hilarious stories. \nOn safari in Africa\, it’s anyone’s guess as to what’s more dangerous: the wildlife or Chelsea. But whether she’s fumbling the seduction of a guide by not knowing where tigers live (Asia\, duh) or wearing a bathrobe into the bush because her clothes stopped fitting seven margaritas ago\, she’s always game for the next misadventure. \nThe situation gets down and dirty as she defiles a kayak in the Bahamas\, and outright sweaty as she escapes from a German hospital on crutches. When things get truly scary\, like finding herself stuck next to

SUMMARY:Alex Film Society Presents MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL
DESCRIPTION:Working on a measly budget (under $400\,000)\, the Python troupe made do with what they had. Can’t afford horses? No problem. We’ll just have Patsy (Terry Gilliam\, playing the part of King Arthur’s assistant) simulate the sound of horses by banging two coconuts together. No location budget? No problem. We’ll just shoot most of the castle scenes (and there are a lot of them) in the same castle\, just using different camera angles\, lighting set-ups\, and set dressing. So come and join us for one of the funniest (and silliest) movies ever made – MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL [Python (Monty) Pictures\, 1975]. The cartoon features Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam in Knighty Knight Bugs. \nTickets: \n$15       [$12.50 Face Value Price + $2.50 Facility Fee] \nThree ways to purchase tickets: \nClick here to purchase tickets online 24/7 \nCall the Alex Theatre Box Office at 818-243-2539 \nVisit one of our box office locations: the Alex Theatre\, The Americana At Brand Grand Lobby Concierge Desk and the Glendale Community College Box Office.

DESCRIPTION:Unlike Mozart and Beethoven\, Haydn spent most of his life working for one powerful\, generous man: Prince Esterházy of Hungary. Upon the Prince’s death\, Haydn was free to find new opportunities – and new friends – abroad. Amidst his London successes\, Haydn found time to write his Sinfonia concertante\, a lively showcase for the composer and several of his pals. Witness the beginning of a beautiful friendship when the new Oregon Bach Festival artistic director Matthew Hallsleads the Orchestra in his California debut\, while four superbly talented LACO principals recreate Haydn’s most companionable work. The evening’s program includes: \nMatthew Halls\, conductor Margaret Batjer\, violin Andrew Shulman\, cello Allan Vogel\, oboe Kenneth Munday\, bassoon \nMOZART – Ballet Music from Idomeneo  HAYDN – Sinfonia concertante in B-flat major AARON JAY KERNIS – Musica Celestis BEETHOVEN – Symphony No. 1 in C major \nPrograms and artists subject to change. \n7:00 PM – Pre-Concert Preludes – Your ticket includes admission to this pre-concert extra.
