The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition perfect for celebrating the season. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, Los Angeles Ballet stays true to the traditions of the holiday story with some surprises! This production is set in 1912 Los Angeles. Throughout the five scenes in two acts are hints and tastes of Southern California – a Spanish style home, calla lilies, bougainvillea, the snowy forests of the Sierras, Venice archways, a moonlit Pacific Ocean and more!

The Three Stooges Big Screen Event!, presented by the Alex Film Society in association with C3 Entertainment, Inc. returns to the big screen at Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre for its 24th annual edition. “Coffee, Paint & Glue!” is the theme of this year’s outing, showcasing the antics of Moe, Larry and Curly as various liquid substances are exploited for comedic effect. Six classic Stooges shorts will be shown, projected, as usual, from pristine 35mm prints courtesy of Sony Pictures. Maggie K Music presents Maggie Khlghatyan live in concert and accompanied by a live band. Also on the program will be performances by artists well-known in Los Angeles’ Armenian community, as well as artists from Armenia. All proceeds from this benefit concert will go towards public-benefit projects in Gyumri, Armenia, the home of artist Maggie Khlghatyan. The concert commemorates the anniversary of the earthquake in Gyumri, which took the lives of almost 20,000 people, including Maggie’s parents, niece, and cousin.

Lots of Raffle baskets filled with Stooge goodies from C3 Entertainment. All raffle proceeds support the Alex Film Society, a non-profit arts organization!

The Glendale Youth Orchestra (GYO) is excited to kick off our 31st season as one of Los Angeles Counties leading youth orchestra. The GYO is happy to introduce our new Music Director and Conductor, Henry Shin. The GYO has played twice in recent years at the Walt Disney Concert Hall to great ovation. In 2011, the GYO auditioned and was selected as a PREMIER LA Phil Youth Orchestra.
