A large percentage of graduating engineering students at public universities start their engineering education at a local community college and engineering transfer students have the highest success rate of all majors. Professors Armen Toorian and Chris Hereweth will showcase some of the many resources and opportunities that Glendale Community College has to offer to beginning engineering students. The GCC Planetarium is an all digital, full dome theater with both 2D and 3D "live" digital star fields. Come and learn more about the stars! The GCC “Sandbox” is a experiential learning place where students are encouraged to think, learn, and solve problems by engaging with technology, and each other, to propose, design, and execute, project-based learning activities, emphasizing on creating, exploring, discovering, and reasoning. Join professors Brett Miketta and Rory Schuleter as they discuss how the Sandbox Lab uses student-centered learning and collaboration in an experimental learning setting to encourage academic transfer and career path success in STEM for students at GCC. GCC Alumni Welcome Back Mixer

The Glendale Community College Alumni Council and GCC Superintendent/President Dr. David Viar are hosting the Alumni Welcome Back Mixer on Thursday, November 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the J. Walter Smith Student Center. GCC alumni, friends and community members of all ages are invited back to the college campus for an evening of networking and re-connecting with classmates, faculty and departments. Admission is free. There will be a cash bar. The event is coordinated by the newly-formed Alumni Council and will include drinks, appetizers and entertainment.
