For the first time in its more than 30-year history, the California State Open Chess Tournament is moving to Glendale. Hosted by the American Chess Academy and dot818, this prestigious event will take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel from August 29 to September 1, 2025. Players of all skill levels—from beginners to masters—are expected to compete, with more than 500 participants anticipated across seven sections.
