Edward Barrera, media relations and public relations consultant, is a former journalist and editor whose work was published in the Los Angeles Daily News, the New York Daily News and other newspapers and online sites. He later joined a California-based social media startup as founding content editor and social media strategist. He will guide us through the transitions he encountered – and still encounters – in his more than 15 years in journalism.
Tom Lorenz, Director of Communications & Community Outreach for City of Glendale, oversees Public Information, Community Outreach, Graphic Design, Film & Special Event Coordination, and the seven-time Los Angeles Area Emmy Award winning CATV-GTV6. Tom began his career as a law enforcement officer in the 1980s with the Glendale Police Department. Tom speaks on a number topics such as Media Mitigation, Social Media and E- Hostility and the Anatomy of a Troll, and will address his perspective on engaging residents on social media.
Sevan Torossian, Founder of Seviant™ Studio, has more than a decade of experience ranging from Enterprise to Startups. He will speak to the challenge of how the effectively communicate with customers, and how to turn social media followers into a profit.
